Coming up in this entry: hot sweaty classes! silly bible skits! much teaching of english!

11:44 pm o_o

Today:

  • Slept in...
  • Went to church at 11, prepared a bit, had our daycare English classes and taught them "Jesus Loves Me" (one of two songs we're teaching with our own made-up hand motions to go along) in the very humid and hot church... We had lunch with them (One of my girls, Arisa, wanted me to sit next to her, hehe) and afterward spun them all around.
  • Went back to the house, layed around feeling all hot and sweaty and listened to the new Jars album, and prepared a little bit for our evening classes.
  • Biked back to the church at 4:30 and set up for classes. Jeri and I taught the "advanced" kids class (4th-6th grade) and though I was a little scared she handled it well :) We went over easy dialogues and taught them "Head, shoulders, knees and toes." After class, our class joined up with Moe and Laurel's class - and we were asked to do another Bible skit impromptu so we quickly picked the David and Goliath story - I was David, Moe was Goliath, and Laurel narrated.. the kids dug it :)
  • Ito-sensei ordered us dinner - mine was bland but the others were pretty good! :) Afterward we wrote up our whiteboards for the upcoming classes.
  • Laurel and I taught the "advanced" beginner's class (2 kids, high school and middle school) which went pretty well - we played bingo and the first round they were writing words like "microscope" and "CD player"
  • The classes then joined up, and after chapel time (and Jeri's testimony) we played "catch" with our sploosh ball with the 2 students, quite fun, they totally got into it.
  • went home, had a good team meeting, I showered and here I am.

Hot, sweaty, humid day. It started raining during the meeting, which was cool.

Also, riding bikes is fun! I totally want to get one when I get back home....

New! Guestbook!

Quick facts...
> In Japan, rice is more expensive than it is in the US.

> You can purchase hot coffee and cold milk from the same vending machine.

> Less than 1% of Japanese are Christians.

Reading...
"Or if I bring a sword on that land, and say, 'Sword, go through that land'..."
--Ezekiel 14:17, NKJV (just a funny verse :D)

"Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed."
--John 8:36, NKJV
