Coming up in this entry: first english class, Noriko's BBQ, games, whee

7:55am

Today Moe and I are going to do our first English class. We need to do lesson plans...

9:19pm

This morning, Moe and I made lesson plans (stressfully) for the classes at the Aoki's; Ito-sensei picked us up and took us there, and we had class with a boy and his mom & sister (he was really shy!). we played some card slap games / word recognition and he actually did pretty well. Laurel and Jeri joined us and we all had lunch with the Aoki's, then went back home.

Noriko came over to our house afterward to lead us to her place for her English Class BBQ. We began following her on the bikes, but while riding under the bridge Jeri's flipflop caught the ground somehow and bent her toenail back (auuughh). It was bleeding pretty bad so we turned around and went back to the house to fix it up. Finally made it to Noriko's and joined the BBQ happenings with her students. Spent some time playing English games with the kids (Yuka, Noriko2's daughter, was there too) like "slap" and skip-bo; afterward we read stories in English [I read "5 Little Monkeys"]. Once that was over, had excellent food - including interesting whipped cream sandwiches! - and played around with Noriko's students. The sun started to go down while we were there and that was awesome, too.

Rode the bikes back home and the silver bike seat busted again and I had to ride back standing up the whole way... kind of fun but not...

We went to a few vending machines...

Played a drawing game (in which Moe did not want to draw a vomiting monkey) and talked about today...probably a lot more to say but I need to go shower and hit the hay.

New! Guestbook!

Quick facts...
> In Japan, rice is more expensive than it is in the US.

> You can purchase hot coffee and cold milk from the same vending machine.

> Less than 1% of Japanese are Christians.

Reading...
"Or if I bring a sword on that land, and say, 'Sword, go through that land'..."
--Ezekiel 14:17, NKJV (just a funny verse :D)

"Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed."
--John 8:36, NKJV
