We were up around 9 today and had a meeting, discussing our woman Bible verses. At 10 Mieko-san came and picked up Laurel and Jeri, and Maureen and I waited for Noriko for a bit and finally called her. She quickly came and fetched us and we went to Toyoko-san's to teach a little mini cooking class (after translating our recipes for them) - made tortillas (surprisingly quite labor intensive) and had Mexican tacos with refried beans (which they actually enjoyed, bunking the stereotype!). Laurel did most of the teaching but it was good community time overall :) Talked a bit afterward; Noriko taught us some Japanese slang to which the other ladies said "dame, dame" (no, no)... and went back to the house.
We went to the pool for around 45 minutes and had more silly races, then went to Yamazawa where we found miniature toy cars of those weird giant pimped-out "Vanning" vans we've seen (Also saw a weird yellow watermelon!) and funny signs that amused Laurel :)
Went back home and hung out for a bit, then went to the church to setup for adult classes. Our funny guy (Kentaro? Kennichiro? Ken-something) was back - the one who looks like Micky Dolenz crossed with someone Laurel said that I can't remember. Class was cool - ripped through a whole chapter and were done early, even! (played Pictionary and whatnot too!) One of our dialogues used random flash cards to fill in the blank of the dialogue, we'd pass them out randomly and ask each other questions and answer with them. So one of the hilarious conversations that occurred (with Ken of course):
"What's your cockroach's name?"
"Pikachu!"
Afterward I gave my testimony(mony) and we sang "I love you Lord" and "Father I adore you" (which we taught the classes again). Then we had pop and free talk time and chatted with Ken-guy and Moe's high school boys, and Laurel, Jeri and I talked with the 2 Norikos. It was fun and funny (mostly about slang) and there was much laughter. Rode bikes home and fed the cats and now I need to sleep... 12:05
