Coming up in this entry: fun cookin with the ladies, skits, good classes and connections!

12:14am (actually 7-16 technically)

We were up early today; Ito-sensei picked us up around 8:15 or so and drove us to the church for bread-making with some of the daycare moms. We made pigs-in-a-blanket and choco-banana roll things.. all were really good :)

After watching the kids' music class with Noriko2 (they were playing these weird keyboard-harmonica-blowpipe-things... the sound of 15 of those going off at the same time cannot be captured in words) we sang our two songs (we're teaching them "Jesus Loves Me" and "I've got the joy joy joy joy down in my heart") and acted out "Noah's Ark" for the kids (Moe was Noah, Laurel was the narrator/God, me and Jeri played various roles like evil people and animals). We then had lunch with the kids.

Walked back home in the rain; we walked past the salon but couldn't go in, we had to get home for the preperation meeting.

Had that Friday meeting at 1:30 with Noriko and Ito-sensei and crew - we have a lot of "free" time coming up and need to decide what we want to do and let them know (need to remember this is probably the only time of our lives we'll be here.. make the most of it!)

Afterward went to the conbini (convenience store) and then the Kamin and bought a lot of food as always... I tried to write a mass email to send back home but it just seemed like there was way too much to say and difficult to sum up... will think about this.

Ito-sensei picked us up around 6:45 for our evening classes. We prepared and I wrote out the night's lesson on the whiteboard. we had 3 less people but 1 new person so it worked out alright, though I missed our one lone guy :( he was cool!

Afterwards sang "Sanctuary" and taught "Father I Adore you" and Moe gave her testimony; the Doctor in her class had a few questions afterward. Moe talked about sin and the Catholic belief in baptism and her growth toward a true relationship in Jesus not based on empty tradition... I prayed the whole time God would give her the words to say in response to his questions. Ito-sensei then talked for "chapel time" and invited everyone to karaoke tomorrow with us (I hope someone shows up!)

We then sat around talking for a long time with two of Moe's high school students and Noriko and Ito-sensei (who seemed to doze off at times, hehe) before finally leaving around 10:20pm. We talked a bit about the day at home and went to bed around.. now :)

Oh, Noriko said the guy from MXC is named "Takeshi" (hence Takeshi's Castle) and is famous in Japan; he's been in a lot of movies (including Jonny Nuemonic with Keanu Reeves) and is a TV personality.. figures! She knew which show MXC was translated from as well.. and she watched 70-shirt guy the same night we did! That was fun to laught about..

Ack! 12:30... Good thing we don't have to get up tomorrow.

New! Guestbook!

Quick facts...
> In Japan, rice is more expensive than it is in the US.

> You can purchase hot coffee and cold milk from the same vending machine.

> Less than 1% of Japanese are Christians.

Reading...
"Or if I bring a sword on that land, and say, 'Sword, go through that land'..."
--Ezekiel 14:17, NKJV (just a funny verse :D)

"Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed."
--John 8:36, NKJV
