Coming up in this entry: testimonies in church! cool conversations, soba, goin down the slide :)

11:11pm

Got up a lil late today and had a Psalm 119 meeting. Jeri was in a slightly bad mood so we prayed for her. Jared called after that to talk to Moe, and we proceeded with getting ready for church. Sang "As the Deer" and "Sanctuary" (with a slight hiccup) and then Laurel gave her #2 testimony (what God has been doing in her life recently) and I gave my #1 (how I came to know Christ). Afterward we talked to Ryoko (Ito-sensei's wife), who was intrigued by our testimonies, about Care Net and abortion alternatives (and the lack of such a ministry in Japan) and she said she hoped I found a nice Christian guy someday and told us the story of how dating a non-Christian made her a Christian, and how her pastor introduced her to Ito-sensei back in the day.

They took us out to a soba restaurant where they ordered us huuge bowls of soba and tempura which were delicious. Outside, there was a statue called "the hard working student" of a boy carrying a book - we put a bible on his open book, much to the amusement of our hosts.

Then we shuttled back to the house and hung out for awhile.

After a bit we biked to the church and 7-11 (pausing to photograph ourselves in one of the street mirrors) and checked email, and I finally managed to get some photos posted to the website, yay! Now if I can just keep up the habit...

Laurel and Moe couldn't resist going down the church's slide, er, fire escape, heh...

We gave each other massages back at the house and tried to relax a bit.

Saw a cool view of the castle at night but I was moving too much to get a clear shot with my digicam in "nighttime" mode :/ The same went for the bar right across the street from our house.

New! Guestbook!

Quick facts...
> In Japan, rice is more expensive than it is in the US.

> You can purchase hot coffee and cold milk from the same vending machine.

> Less than 1% of Japanese are Christians.

Reading...
"Or if I bring a sword on that land, and say, 'Sword, go through that land'..."
--Ezekiel 14:17, NKJV (just a funny verse :D)

"Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed."
--John 8:36, NKJV
