Japan!

Konnichiwa minna-san! (Hello everyone!) Welcome to the official webpage for the summer missions team to Japan from Independent Bible Church. Here you will find our posts throughout the trip (which are below this introduction), and various updates on our ministry once it begins.

We will be serving God in Japan from June 21 to August 7, 2004, working with Asian Access/LIFE Ministries at Kaminoyama Bible Church. Japan is a fascinating nation filled with wonderful, intelligent people, but sadly, Christianity makes up only 1/2 of 1% of the religious atmosphere. It is a nation lost in worldly religion and one that desperately needs Christ.

If you would like to support us through prayer (which is much needed), please email us at japan2004@aveiceae.com. Thank you kindly and God bless!

whew!

All the pictures are up, and some videos too. Enjoy, but beware that Noriko's videos are quite large... from 16 to 25 MB! Mine are all around 1.3 MB.
Next: Journal entries, and scans of cool things I picked up in Japan! Maybe an "Engrish" gallery as well.

Almost done

posted by: court
Weeks 1-5 are now listed on the photos page. Just 2 more to go! There were a few mix-ups as far as order gpes, but most everything is at least in the right week. With three different sources for photos (me, Ito-sensei, Noriko) and 3 different uniquely-numbered memory sticks for my own camera, there were bound to be a few mixups as far as order.... and with 1400 photos I REALLY didn't feel like manually putting them in exact chronological order. Anyway, enjoy!

Updates begin

I've posted the first two weeks worth of photos on the picture page - the rest will follow soon. I've got over 1400 photos to go through! x_x I'm hoping to get the journal entries up soon, too. Thanks for being patient! Life is busy! :)

Quick facts...
> In Japan, rice is more expensive than it is in the US.

> You can purchase hot coffee and cold milk from the same vending machine.

> Less than 1% of Japanese are Christians.
