Oh, man. The Onion has spoken. o_o

Went and mailed something for my brother, and drove around listening to Radiohead's "Idioteque" turned up real loud on my new speakers.. :) (Thom Yorke is my rockstar boyfriend, don't ya know? (see two posts prior)) I'm too much of a weenie to drive past people on the street with it turned up, though, so I always turn it down and turn it back up after I pass them. I know, I know.... get a backbone, right? :D

I'm trying to broadcast my internet radio show, but trying to figure out my IP address is harder than I thought. Turns out there's a separate IP used by my service provider, which is what people would be able to listen to my webcast on. So... I have to track that down. If/when I ever get it running, though, I'll post it here... :D wee! (It's basically a playlist of the mp3 files I have on my hard drive... holy crap, it's a lot of files, let me tell ya! :) That's what the "court FM" link to the right there is for, in the event that I actually do get this baby running.

Got my autographed copy of the newest TMBG CD (which is very cool) in the mail, through TMBG Unlimited! click here to see it! :D

I'm not sure whose signature is whose, either.

Dude! I took the "who is your rockstar boyfriend?" test and my rockstar boyfriend was so Thom Yorke! How cool is that?! :D It told me:

"Break open the champagne! Your rockstar boyfriend is Thom Yorke! You and Thom Yorke are a match made in heaven! You're both quite shy, but highly intelligent and creative people. You might be described as being a wallflower at parties, but it is probably because you're so deep in thought! Music is a huge part of your life and you prefer to experiment with different genres of music, rather than sticking to the same thing, which makes you a perfect couple!"

YEAH!! :D

It gave me a picture too... too big to squeeze in my tiny blog space, but you can open it in a new window!

Thom, my stats show you visited this page on 9/25/01 at 10:48 pm. This is not the page I wanted you to check. Wink. Wink. Nudge. NUDGE. It says you stayed for a minute exactly. Boy... ;) Maybe it was you searching for bagpipes playing "Taps," eh? :P

Someone keeps getting this site by searching "flannel lined pants" at google.com. Because you know, I am all about the flannel-lined pants. :P

'Course, I got a hit from "bagpipes playing Taps" as well....

So, (picture that won't link to a new window because of tripod's stupid image policy) is what is being ranked now, at Thom's reccomendation. I am feeling more and more like rankme.com is a very shallow endeavor... but it's kind of fun. ;)

  Following Thom's lead, I put up a pic at rankme.com. After 31 votes, I'm scoring a 5.9. DUDE! I am so AVERAGE! Yeahh! :P

Thom said he didn't like the picture I put up, and is going to send me one to replace it with. Well. So, pride in check, we shall see what he thinks I should show to the brutal public.

this is a pretty dang cute pic of Thom (it looks better in its original size, so click on it to get the full-size version)... except for the toupee he glued to his chin. :P

not by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin!

He put it up at "rankme.com" but it hasn't shown up yet. I am shrewd, however, and managed to locate it. :D

(I kind of like my version. :D)

I ordered a shirt from AE a little while ago, and when I recieved it yesterday, I held it up and thought that perhaps it was a bit too close-fitting in the underarm department. But I decided to put my deoderant to the test, and slapped the shirt on under my Wheaton hoodie.

At the end of the day, as I removed it... oh, it was a grand day in Courtneyland. I have long avoided close-fitting shirts because they make me sweat like crazy, and in fact had never put my newest, best-working deoderant to the test with a close-fitting shirt, as I was afraid to experience the miserable failure that would certainly come. But as I took the shirt off... the armpits were completely dry. My armpits were completely dry. Hallelujah!! Victory! A deoderant that not only lives up to the promises on the box, but defeats my crafty, malicious armpits that strive to break the defenses of all anti-perspirants! I was very happy happy.

Whoa...this page and this page look a LOT alike.

You know, I don't care what his critics say - this speech was delivered excellently and emotionally. Watching the entire assembly in that building stand and applaud more than 30 times during the speech was amazing as well. This in unprecedented in American history.

One week since the attack. Does it seem like it could have been that long already? .... this was the longest week of my life. (and never before have I watched so much CNN.)

I feel like moving to Canada, or Japan, or something... :(

me in the hoodie Thom sent me

(as I wrote to Thom) I miss you. I don't like being used to being away from you. You live in a whole different world, a whole different reality. I always pictured your dorm as a little black pit, but it looks pretty "wooden" and well-lit. :D

aggggh! hairy Thom!hairy Thom and roomie!

Must admit I'm not too fond of that fuzz-face thing he's got going on there... I prefer the face below...

I recently bought something off eBay from someone who lives in Japan. When she saw that my address was in the US, she wrote to me:

"Hello Courtney, Thank you for your email. Most Japanese are in shock over the horrid events which took place in the USA. Sorry about my english. Arigato, Rieko"

People worldwide are grieving. If only we all held the same standards on the sanctity of human life...

  Impossible....

More of my thoughts are up at In the Light.

I'm flying to Chicago in November, to visit Thom. I am really not looking forward to it (the flying) now.

At least I've heard my cousin Zaedryn is ok... apparantly she flew out of NY around 6 am the day of the attacks, and is currently stuck in Chicago. I was pretty worried, because the last I'd heard, she was in NY attending ladyfest east. Don't talk to her much these days, but I feel those family ties, especially now. The fact that she was flying out of NY the day of the attacks is nerve-wracking enough. I bet she feels exactly the same way.

Does your scalp or head ever like... tingle when you're listening to REALLY good music? Like a really cool part that's just "wow!" ... because mine does, and I want to know if I'm a freak.

You know what I'm talking about, right? The voices hit a certain note or pitch, or the violins swell a certain way, or something occurs that is just Excellent Musicality, and your head just... "washes" in it. I don't know how to descibe it.

So maybe I am a freak. Shut up. :P

9/10/2001 12:45:45 PM | linky
My hair is getting really long - just about as long as it was when I had it at its longest, just past my mid-back. That translates to: I never wear it down. Long hair is a pain in the butt, especially long curly hair that likes to frizz and get all over everything. So up it goes.

Almost time to go to work... bleh. No thanks. Can we pause time here and make the weekend a little longer, please? Laurel and I spent the night out at Thom's ex-house last night, as his ma was out of town... long drive, but nice beach to walk on. I miss walking on it with him.

Wanna see a preview of my personal domain idea? (IE 5+, style sheets, 1024 x 768 res. please) here 'tis. preliminary, but I like how it's shaping up.

Gotta run!

Watched "Enemy at the Gates" last night, with Laurel....

Jude Law

Mr. Law again

Sure, he was covered in dirt and blood most of the time, but he's still amiable.

Don't worry Thommy, you're still my number 1. :D

My brother put new speakers in my Accord yesterday, and the thing is (comparatively) thumpin'! You should have seen the old speakers (factory installed from 1988, oh baby) - the rims were all crumbly and falling apart. Dathan said they were the worst-looking speakers he'd ever seen that still made noise.

Well, the car sounds good now! I only replaced the fronts, though - still need to get to the back ones - they sound so bad I don't even have any noise going through them. I bet they look 10 times worse than the old fronts did. But now at least I have some decent sound coming into the car! So I drove around blasting Radiohead's "Idioteque" and mix CDs and had a grand old time. Driving is FUN now! :D

Thom called this afternoon! He just wanted to talk, and we chatted for a few minutes until I accidentally hung up on him, and then called him back (for another half-hour, long-distance, on my dime... :P). It was so good to hear his voice.... he says he's very secure in our relationship, and he's not even looking at other girls with the least bit of interest (something he'd worried about before leaving for college). He said being away from me made him really realize what we do have. *sigh* I miss him. I can't wait for this year to be over, so we can both be ready for each other, finally. I need to focus down on my relationship with God and make Him number one in my life before I'll be ready - I think I still have a little ways to go in that respect. But that's what this year is for... growth and preparation.

I still miss him! :>

Is it just me, or do Dave Matthews and Peter Gabriel sound a LOT alike?

I picked up a business license application today, to perhaps start my own web business. Don't laugh. My small town is very deprivred of any sort of web design specialty, and I intend to stay local, so don't make fun of my stuff, yo. People here don't care if they have PHP and databases and crap, they just want to go online. So that is what I'll give 'em.

I'm making some love CDs for my Thommy, and thinking about him quite a bit. I miss him. :C

Wil Wheaton's site is now one of my most favorite sites on the web. I dig it. And look at this guy! (linked from his old website) What a face! :D I keep picturing the young version of that face in "Stand by Me" when I see pictures of him now.

I bought a ticket for my brother to go to TMBG with me. That's how desperate I am, yo.

Had a terrific IM conversation with The Boy last night... I just sent him a box, which he recieved a few days ago, and apparantly the card that I sent him in the box is the exact same card that he had bought for me and was planning to send me. It's a card that, upon being opened, plays "I think I love you.." by David Cassidy. So great, so cheesy, so bad it's good.... and we picked the EXACT same card for each other! We were laughing about that for awhile... we are just too much in tune with each other.

"I think we're meant to be together forever," he said.

"It's rare, what we have," I said.

So much love in my heart.

I had hot chocolate for breakfast today, my usual style, 3 and a half huge spoonfuls of choco-powder. I made the mistake of choosing a slightly smaller cup than usual, though, so it was actually.... too chocolately!

I've been looking at wedding dresses... just for the heck of it. :> There are many sites and many dresses, and some of them are very nice. (some of them are VERY not nice, too.) I like the one on the upper right on this page. :D

Just made my favorite recipie (OK, the only one I know how to make): Dutch Babies. Ahhh yeah, full tummy. :D Thom has always referred to them as "Dutch Pancakes," which probably sounds less sick, but I grew up hearing dutch babies, so that is what I call them. :P

Ingredients:
1 stick of butter (the little ones... are they a cup?)
1 1/4 cups flour
1 1/4 cups milk
5 eggs

Need:
A blender
An oven
A fairly large sized pan (size doesn't matter too much, but it works better wth a bigger pan)

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Melt the butter in the pan. (I usually just stick the pan in the oven while it's preheating, and it's all melted when you're ready fot it.) Blend the 5 eggs on high speed for 1 minute. On low speed, mix in the milk and flour (watch the flour, it likes to "poof" everywhere). Blend again at high speed for 30 seconds. When the butter is melted (but not burned! Burned butter BAD!) pour the blender contents into the pan. Bake for 20 minutes.

Voila! It should have a nice "crown" curling up and in from the sides, which should be slightly browned. Serve with good syrup and ENJOY! :D (a nice fattening breakfast food! Weeee!)

  SO COOL.

I cannot wait for this to come out.

9/1/2001 12:00:52 AM | linky
He's just too funny. Been going through Wil's site for awhile now, and have been laughing at every turn. And Radiohead! He likes Radiohead! The guy is awesome!

Had an "adventure" earlier... I'll let my IM conversation with Thommy tell the tale...

Courtney says:
I was on the can earlier and a spider fell down from the ceiling right beside me... uggghhh
Thom says:
Aaaaaaiiiiiii!
Courtney says:
a big huge one.... big icky legs... I leaped up and squished it with a towel!
Courtney says:
Go me!
Thom says:
Did he SEE you?
Courtney says:
ICK
Courtney says:
yes.
Thom says:
haha
Thom says:
You make me smile.
Courtney says:
I know.. at least he died a gruesome death, and he can't tell anyone what he saw.

So that was creepy. I actually HEARD it hit the floor. This was a BIG spider, y'all, with big legs that went up and out and THEN down towards the ground. HUGE. And EVIL. And hanging around in my bathroom!! Disturbing. Just disturbing. Needless to say I am now examining the ceiling of every room I enter.
