Ugh. Read something that completely creeped me out today. Bleah. Must stop thinking about it.

Agh! Why did brain think such thought?

I miss swing dancing. Thom and I don't really have time these days, but last year at this time we were Lindy Hoppin' like nobody's business. I love the lindy - so fast and quick-moving and customizable. You can make stuff up on a whim, add it into the step, and it's all good. And lifts - lifts were so fun! I think we were doing (counts on fingers) about 6 lifts in our heyday... (Airplane, Straddle, Cuddle Flip, "the flingy-around one," "the step-over-pull-between-the-legs one," Princess, ummm... that's all I remember). I remember the one time we got the Straddle absolutely perfect... at its climax, he was holding me over his head by my hips, and my legs were straight up in the air above him. We made a straight vertical line, people. That was so awesome. We almost fell over backwards; that's how high I got. That felt pretty dang cool, to be suspended in the air like that. Unfotunately, we were practicing in an empty ballroom, and not a soul witnessed the fine pinnacle of our hours of practice. *sob*

Hopefully we'll keep it up in the future... I don't want to forget all the steps we learned. Maybe we'll go out dancing after this first year he's away, or after we get hitched. I hope there are clubs that put on swing dances wherever we go. Heck... even my cousin Z is swing dancing these days! If Thom ends up going to the UW, maybe we'll run into her at a swing dance someday. :>

Thom left for China today. I saw him off this morning with a kiss and a wave, and gave him Kermit. Kermit is a little beanbag version of the muppet that has traveled with me to Japan, Mexico, Canada, and just about everywhere else I've been (mostly in the States). I've taken pictures of Kermit in all those places, hanging by his legs from the racks of a bus, sitting on rocks near Mount Osore-zan... I figured he'd want to visit China, so I instructed Thom to photograph him on the Great Wall. Kermit is a big fan of traveling. :D

Poor Thom... so many things are going on right now, things he has asked me not to discuss. He's under a great deal of stress... as he says, the world he'll return to when he gets back from China will be completely different than the world he is leaving. Things are happening, stuff is changing, and his life will never be the same again. I'm praying like mad for him... aslso, of course, praying that he will return safely from China. (eep!)

  "Hold me closer, tiny dancer..."

Dangit, watched "Almost Famous" a few nights ago and now have that song firmly grounded into my head...

College grades were posted today. I am maintaining my current "fad" of high performance. (Got the highest GPA of my entire freakin' life last quarter, a 3.97!! Not quite there this quarter, but still good.) One more quarter and I'll have two degrees! Wow, four years since I graduated high school... that seems insane.

Joint birthday party for Thom and one of his friends tonight. (late 17th). A few horrible things happened that need not be mentioned. But we played charades, and I so got Laurel to guess "fondue" and "outhouse." Fondue. I am so down with the fondue, y'all. I also drew a saddle with my eyes closed and got her to guess that too. I rule. Plus I managed to guess "Karl Marx" (how do you figure that one?) and a few other hard ones. It was pretty cool. In all things did not go quite as I was hoping.. but then again it wasn't my party, so what can you do. Charades was the best part of the evening, even though I was a big fat loser girlie in comparison to some. (aHEM) And I somehow managed to misspell "gourmet." Like duh.. it has a "u" ... oh well...

"pihrouette." or is it "pirhouette?"

I even shaved my winter's worth of leg hair growth just to wear a skirt... which I promptly changed out of as soon as I arrived. Ya... that was pointless. We also didn't swing dance when asked. I kind of wanted to, actually.. but it's been so long, we would've probably sucked it up, and stood there trying to remember stuff we used to know.

Laurel got Thom a record called "Accordion Party - the awesome sound of an accordion band." Yeah! rock on! :P

eh... it's late... I'm goin' to bed.

Lazy day. Indeed.Watched "Meet the parents" with Thommy last night, which was funny enough to amuse us for awhile. Also went out to eat and washed my hair. I don't think my hair has ever been quite so tangly after a washing as it was after Thom lathered it up. :D He was very gentle brusing it, though, so it was all ok...

I miss him now.

I miss his smile. I miss his laugh. I miss his smell. I miss the way he looks at me.

His plane lands at midnight, and boy, am I counting those minutes...

I discovered I can plug my minirecorder into the computer and make mp3 files out of anything on the tape. This discovery resulted in hours of encoding tape to digital format, which was mostly successful. I burned a lot of it to CD for permanent safekeeping. And the funny thing is, someone actually tried to download one of the files of Thom while I was on Napster last night. I quickly canceled it, as I figure he didn't realize quite what he was getting. Who really picks something that says "Thom solo take 3" over something professional-sounding? I haven't ruled out the slight chance that the downloader might have actually known Thom, but that is very slight in my opinion.

I think I'll play the Sims until it's time to go to the airport.
