Ugh. Read something that completely creeped me out today. Bleah. Must stop thinking about it.

Agh! Why did brain think such thought?

I miss swing dancing. Thom and I don't really have time these days, but last year at this time we were Lindy Hoppin' like nobody's business. I love the lindy - so fast and quick-moving and customizable. You can make stuff up on a whim, add it into the step, and it's all good. And lifts - lifts were so fun! I think we were doing (counts on fingers) about 6 lifts in our heyday... (Airplane, Straddle, Cuddle Flip, "the flingy-around one," "the step-over-pull-between-the-legs one," Princess, ummm... that's all I remember). I remember the one time we got the Straddle absolutely perfect... at its climax, he was holding me over his head by my hips, and my legs were straight up in the air above him. We made a straight vertical line, people. That was so awesome. We almost fell over backwards; that's how high I got. That felt pretty dang cool, to be suspended in the air like that. Unfotunately, we were practicing in an empty ballroom, and not a soul witnessed the fine pinnacle of our hours of practice. *sob*

Hopefully we'll keep it up in the future... I don't want to forget all the steps we learned. Maybe we'll go out dancing after this first year he's away, or after we get hitched. I hope there are clubs that put on swing dances wherever we go. Heck... even my cousin Z is swing dancing these days! If Thom ends up going to the UW, maybe we'll run into her at a swing dance someday. :>

Thom left for China today. I saw him off this morning with a kiss and a wave, and gave him Kermit. Kermit is a little beanbag version of the muppet that has traveled with me to Japan, Mexico, Canada, and just about everywhere else I've been (mostly in the States). I've taken pictures of Kermit in all those places, hanging by his legs from the racks of a bus, sitting on rocks near Mount Osore-zan... I figured he'd want to visit China, so I instructed Thom to photograph him on the Great Wall. Kermit is a big fan of traveling. :D

Poor Thom... so many things are going on right now, things he has asked me not to discuss. He's under a great deal of stress... as he says, the world he'll return to when he gets back from China will be completely different than the world he is leaving. Things are happening, stuff is changing, and his life will never be the same again. I'm praying like mad for him... aslso, of course, praying that he will return safely from China. (eep!)
