Dude, it's September tomorrow. This sucks. Summer just flew by, and I barely noticed. I was working the whole time. I never even made it out to the lake... not once! Boo! :P At least Thommy and I will get to bike around on Sunday. That should be fun, even if it rains. I don't mind rain. :D

I am very much looking forward to Labor Day. These long workdays stink. Of course my boss here wants me to do as much as possible in my remaining two days here, so I'm working my buns off. I stamped, folded, labeled, and copied about a million copies of the newsletter yesterday, and he says he wants to "put out another issue" TODAY. The last one took... 3 months? x_x *kak*

Still waiting on Sailormoon fansubs. My favorite distributor was in a car wreck, so things are going slow... I had yesterday marked as the day I hoped to recieve some of the tapes... but I understand... her wreck was certainly a LOT worse than the one I was in last year. I didn't get hurt at all. The other guy takes a little longer, so I'm expecting those tapes in September... but I can hardly wait!! I love that show... uncut original Japanese Sailormoon is so cool. :D

Blah. Late. Work long. Tired. Late. Biking over to Victoria with Thom on Sunday. Things going well. Finally understanding new job. Discussing how new job opens up many possibilities for employment in future times, in future locations. New job busy. Extracted teeth today. Bloody. Nasty. Tired. Late... must bathe... internet calling... beckoning...

Tired. Miss Thommy. DUmped a can of Dr. Pepper upside down in lap while driving. Soaked every crack in the lower half of body with Dr. Pepper. Cold. Wet. Gross. Car seat ruined. Much fun. :P Must go to bed...

It's my birthday, it's my birthday! Wee! I went in to renew my license today, suffered through yet another awful picture, and then promptly went to Safeway with Thom to buy cheap strawberry wine. Not for us, necessarily, but just to do it. :D But darn it, the check-out girl didn't even card me! Hello people! What's up with this?? I look younger than Thom, and she didn't card me. Boo. :P That was the whole point. So we brought it home and did a little toast, and then I took a sip and gagged as it burned down my throat (and dumped the rest back in the bottle... shhh don't tell), and we hugged and giggled and played video games.

He got me a lens. A really sweet lens. A Vivitar series 1 macro 1:1 lens. I just gasped and gaped when I opened it up. My baby is good to me. :D He also got me little model horsies and a stuffed monkey. (there's a story behind that one) It's been a good day. Laurel also called from England to complain that she hates London, because it's "evil." She said she's going to bring home a canned dessert called spotted dick (a bread pudding pastry type thing)... mmm-mmm! So I wonder, are there different varieties of that dessert? There's "spotted dick," so is there just... "dick?"

"Mmmm... I feel like some canned dick!" ... I really, really hope not. :P

I turn 21 tomorrow! :D They say it's my birthday....

That's me, August 25th, 5:10 pm... a Virgo, the virgin yeah, yeah, laugh all you want, at least I'm 100% sure I won't get pregnant, or get an STD, or ever have to worry about those kind of things!... I am completely unlike the "classic virgo." Me? Studious? Responsible? Tidy? A good leader? Hah!! I'm more like a combobulation of a lot of different things. Like all the lame things. Ahem. Thom is a Pisces, if you were wondering. But I place no stock whatsoever in astrology. My astronomy teacher proved that to me. (As if you needed proof that it doesn't really work... it's freakin' obvious!)

Working two jobs at once it quite draining. I certainly don't recommend it if you can help it. :P

Poor Laurel... she's in England, and she's not enjoying it very much. Heck... "poor" Laurel? She's in England, and I'm here working my buns off. Ah well. Such is life.

Blah. Brain not working. Too much dental information floating around at random speeds. "never pass over the eyes..." "never say 'eww'..." "this is an excavator, it scoops out cavities..." yum. :P

First day training at the dentistry office... there are 5 million different tools that somehow all look identical, and yet all have a very specific and unique job in the procedure, and must be used in a certain order. Agh. time for memorization.

But I think I'll be ok.

Listening to Ella Fitzgerald... lovely voice...

It is finally sinking in that I have to get up at 6:45 tomorrow. Gag, gag, gag. Maybe I'll go to bed now.

One of my old high school buddies got married yesterday.... I ran into another old friend (Bob!) as he was heading to the wedding, and he commented that it was just the beginning of "the slippery slope" for the members of our class (1997), and that we'd all be heading down the eisle soon.

"So, Bob, when are you gettin' hitched?" I prodded playfully.

He just made that "uhh, huh huh huh.." sort of "yeah right" noise.

For me... I will wait as long as Thom needs me to. :)

Went to the Fair with Thom yesterday, rode the Zipper (which made him sick, so he was lurchin' around for awhile, but it got a good couple of screams out of him *bwaha*), wandered through the animal barns (and the petting zoo - they had funny looking birdies!), ate lots of expensive fatty good fair food, admired my photos in the photo barn (one of the judges actually wants to have one of them for his personal collection! I was like "uhm.... OK!" yeeha!), wandered and slid down the super slide and ninnied about. Went back today to have more fair food, got a gigantic photo button of the two of us that was quite embarressing to sit for but turned out remarkably good...

Went back to my house and watched "Singing in the Rain," which is a very funny movie, even now. And I dig Gene Kelly. The man is amazing. He looks so good when he's dancing. I wish I could dance like that... but I'd look like a foo' doing it. But I can watch Gene! Woo!

I have to get up at 6:45 all this week, to be at the dental office for training at 7:30. Ugghhhhhhh. Early mornings + Courtney = BAD. Then I get an hour off at noon and head over to the timber office from 1-5. I think my current boss is still clueless that I have switched jobs under his nose. I left him a two-week notice last Wed. in the form of a letter on his desk, but he hasn't been in the office this whole time, so he has no clue! I haven't really seen or spoken to him since I got the new job, either. I'm supposed to actually start at the dental office on either Aug 30, 31, or Sept. 5. (after Labor Day) Time is ticking. I hope my current boss reads that letter. I spent so much time on it too. :P

If I get a scanner for my birthday, I'll scan that photo button Thommy and I had taken today. It's so kawaii... :D

Interested in theology? I've been all over it lately...

so I get to train for my dental assistant job... at 7:30 in the morning next week! Yes! 7-freakin'-30 in the morning! Woo!

this day kind of sucks so far. Long story. Not worth going into. but it sucks the big one. It was supposed to be a good day, too. Bah.

Well, I'm off.

My back hurts. It's still killing me from the Limbo competition at camp back in July. But I was the last staff person in the running! That's pretty impressive, seeing as I was up against a bunch of short middle schoolers, and I top out at 5' 8 1/2". Thom was pretty impressed with my bending abilities. But man... my back aches like heck. I don't often try to bend myself in half (especially backwards!), y'know.

So the Fair is going on now. My photos did pretty good... I got a second place with the B&W one of Laurel (she's so photogenic! Darn her! Darn her to heck!), and two honerable mentions with the one of the pier at night and the B&W one of the nifty balconies in Hawaii. Thom's dad got like a million big fat ribbons. But he is practically a professional photographer, and I'm still not sure how to use shutter speeds correctly. So I did pretty well considering... :D

More arguments over at In the Light. The same thing over and over again. I feel like just pointing people to the archives and saying "read this, tons of people already asked me that," but I feel like I should respond to everyone. There's so much to say, though... it's hard to just sum it up so quickly.

Waiting on Sailormoon fansubs...can hardly contain myself... :D

Laurel left this morning! She'll be in England for 3 weeks. I wish. I've always wanted to go to England, and see Abbey Road and the places the Beatles were born and everything. Ah well. It'll be a terrific experience for her. Thom and I went to see her off at 10:30 or so, and her plane took off around 11:20. Bye bye Laurel...

I made her a little "plane fun packet" of a bunch of lame things I came up with while I was sitting around bored out of my mind in this office. :D Like... a crossword puzzle with personal facts and trivia about our childhoods, and a "make a fight" set complete with individually cut-out Theatre Girl characters... (requires some explanation... when we were kids we drew racehorses a lot, and came up with the grand idea of "make a race," where we cut out the horses individually, drew a track background, and created various race situations. (woo!) of course back then we thought it was a brilliant marketing plan. (eh heh) so this was just the next logical step. I hope she likes it.

So then Thom and I hung out and made Dutch babies and watched yesterday's Survivor episode (I sure hope that stupid Rich guy doesn't win) and kissed a lot and enjoyed each other's company. We're still getting "re-acquainted" after his 8-day absense last week. :D Sure is nice to be with him... we're planning on going to the County Fair tonight after I get off work, if he doesn't have to work, to see if the 4 pictures I entered won anything. And to ride the Zipper! Of course. :D

I got a new job! I am now a Dental Assistant! Woohoo! I have two weeks left here at the timber office, though, and my boss has not been here recently, so he still has no idea. I left him a letter on his desk though... o_O

My gums are sore too. Maybe my new boss will be able to help me with that one. :D

Thom came over last night after he got off work, at about midnight-thirty, and we stayed up talking and cuddling and being close to each other until about 2:15. Magical... simply amazing... such a tender, wonderful guy is my Thommy. It was a marvelous time together... one of those experiences you don't ever want to end.

On the back of my petit soldier (sailormoon figurine from Japan) box: "Beware of being eaten by children, because of small parts."

Heh. :D

I may soon have a new job as a dental assistant! Wee!

It was so good to see Thom again... ahh... however I have only seen him two brief fleeting times since he got back, and I'm dying for some contact. (Helloo Thom? You reading this? :) I NEED some lovin'. (Not that kind of lovin', you perv. :P) He's been busy catching up in his math class, and has been having some tough times with his family, so it's been a little rough. But nice. :)

I turn 21 in 10 days. I wonder if anyone will try to give me beer. I wonder if Thom will encourage me to order wine when we go out to dinner. I am not a fan of ye ole moonshine. I think it'd be fun to try to buy some, though, because I know they'd card me. But why waste my money? Ah well, I could always give it to my mom...

Thom's plane gets in tonight at 11:59 pm. (Barring unforseen disaster) I'll be there in the terminal, waiting to greet him. I can't wait to see him! :D

To do:
-Wrap brother's 15th birthday present Agghhhh! My little brother is 15! I was much older at that age. :P
-Go to college photo lab and print bigger B&W pics for the Fair I still have keys to the room from 2 years ago.. heh heh
-Send money order for 2" Sailormoon figures
-Send money order for 5" Sailormoon figures
-Send money order for Sailormoon SuperS / R seasons
-Send money order for Sailormoon S season wee!
(I've bought a lot of things... :P Darn that ebay! Darn it to heck!)
-DO LAUNDRY (eh heh..) Yep... once again I am totally out of undies. There's nothing worse than wearing last-resort pairs of tattered cloth.
-Remind self of 1 1/2 year anniversary with Thommy-chan :) (on the 12th)

I need to get those pictures blown up. Tomorrow's the last day I can turn pics in for the Fair, and I still need to mat them and everything. And that always takes for-freakin'-ever. Maybe if I ever get the time I'll scan them... there's some nice ones. :>

I'm lonely... I can't wait to see Thom tonight!

Whoa - big news, if you want Sailormoon fansubs - The S and SuperS seasons are going to be commercially released, so most fansubbers are pulling these seasons at the end of August. Ack! Go here, here, or here to get those entire seasons ASAP! (average price per season: around $42-$46) Hopefully Sailormoon, SailormoonR, and Sailormoon SailorStars will still be distributed. I'm off to order!

Thom's plane left at 5:25 this morning.... :C

I was there to see him off; a hug, a kiss goodbye, and he was off through the metal detector. It's a small airport, so I was able to watch the plane hit the sky from a pretty good spot. It's real foggy out... I'm praying praying praying he makes it to Sacramento OK... and back here, in a week, of course. So Thom's at jazz camp... It's like a mini version of last summer. :( :( :(

Or, as anime fans love to put it... ;_;

Or... -_-

Or... >_< (the "Cartman face" according to Laurel)

Or... @_@

Heh. But I really do miss him. I'm praying for his safety... I'm such a plane phobic. The way I look at it, car crashes are more likely, but you're also more likely to survive a car crash, as opposed to a plane crash. Not much you can do when you're hurtling towards the ground from a height of 30,000 feet. :P

Spent a couple hours looking up good Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon fansub distributors last night. The one below (Glass Rose) is the best one I found (cheap, friendly, good deals [buy an entire season at once, cheaper than a pair of Tevas! :)] excellent quality, everything but a few eps. from the R season). VKLL is the most popular, but is overpriced. If anyone out there is a BSSM fan and knows of any better subbers, please let me know.

Want to buy the original Japanese Sailormoon episodes? (They're subtitled, and they're WAAAAAAAAAY better than the hacked-slashed-dubbed-and-mutilated North American version!!) Go here! She's got everything but the last half of Sailormoon R, which is still being subtitled. I beg of you, if you've seen the dubbed version and ou think it sucks, check out the original, because you really don't know what you're missing. The dialogue is different, the music is different, the attacks/transformations are different... the dub is basically a hack job.

My rant of the day. :D

Today is Laurel's birthday - she's 18... I thought about buying her something funny, but I ended up getting her teeny little model horses instead. They're very cute and realistic. We used to play with and collect Breyer model horses... it was our obsession for awhile... so this should be a nice blast from the past. I hope. I just hate doing the usual cop-out gift like a shirt or a CD or something... that's so impersonal, and you can never remember who gave you things like that anyway, unless they scrawl their name all over it or something. (Of course, I've given Thom two t-shirts, but those were highly customized - I designed them myself and had them specially printed. :D) Maybe I should have designed Laurel a t-shirt. Drat. Well, it could always be a late gift...
